City Sketches

Lakeview - Faber-Castell Colored Pencils
Some sketches from the sketchbook. These are sketches of paintings by Karen Jurick, one of my very favorite artists. These are small drawings done in a 5" X 8" sketchbook. I like working small as it has its own unique characteristics.

Back to bigger format drawings and paintings soon, but first I want to fill the remaining pages of this summer sketch book.

You can find Karen Jurick's at

  1. I love the Cityscape piece. The tall building reminds me of an apartment building that's south of downtown Mpls. With its multiple-colored windows, the building reminds me of what a building in the old Eastern bloc would look like. Grim, but colorful.
