Lloyd and Dote in graphite - 8 1/2 X 11 inches |
Lloyd and Dode circa 1950's. I borrowed a wonderful old photograph from my 94 year old neighbor Lloyd of him and his wife.I tried my best to recreate their likeness. I had fun drawing this, not just for it's detail, but because of what Lloyd means to me.
Hard to describe in words, but Lloyd is a great person and someone with character. I know, "character" isn't always appreciated in this era but I have a feeling if more people knew Lloyd it would make a comeback.
This drawing was done with a graphite pencil and took about two hours to complete, over the course of several months. The picture on the lower left is the same drawing in a frame.
This original drawing is now in the collection of
Mr. Lloyd Alm.
