Today I had some time to return to painting. It's cold today up in the North and so I thought it'd be good to try to capture what it's like here right now. Still lots of great color in the various trees and foliage near the Mississippi river. Although my trees on this painting look a bit like cotton balls, I was just experimenting with reductive technique.
I'm okay with the way the distant buildings are shown in the background although perhaps they're missing a bit of color. In the end I'm just glad to be back doing some painting.
