January 27, 2013 - Update
I made a number of revisions to this painting after letting it sit for a week or so. The clouds have more color now and I revised the fence a bit. The most important changes were done to the landscape.

I've been working on this painting for some time now. This is from a photograph I took while on the Antrim Coast of Ireland. The rugged beauty of the coast is captivating and this happened to be in an area with an ancient castle. Although the castle also seemed like a good subject to paint, I was drawn to the simplicity of the old fence near the sea.
