Coral Sadowy & Marty Owings |
What a great time at the Minnesota Artists Association exhibition at the Ames Center. Two of my paintings were in the show, "Coral's Chinatown" and "The Schmidt Brewery".
I met up with Coral Sadowy whose original photograph of Chinatown was the inspiration for my painting. Coral is a brilliant photographer and adventurer. It was a great pleasure and honor to work with her.
I also ran into my good friends Larry Ehrlich and Shawn Turek, both great artists who made the trek out in the cold to see the show.
There were more than thirty-five artists represented in the show and their work spanned oil, acrylic, crayon, encaustic wax, watercolor, graphite and ink. Many of Minnesota's best artists were represented.
Here is a link to the Ames Center Art Gallery. The show runs through the beginning of January.
