A Tiny Sketchbook of People

January 14, 2016

This is a small sketchbook I completed over the course of several months. A composition of people from cafe's, hardware stores, streets and other public and not so public places. I tried to force myself to change styles, materials, views, angles and colors. The idea was to push my work in varying degrees. I think it's a search for my own style and originality.

I very much enjoy working in sketchbooks and I think I'll get busy with a few more. Not sure I'll limit myself to a particular subject or theme because I enjoy variety. Many of these sketches were executed in the company of my good friend and fellow Artist Larry Ehrlich. We enjoy each others companies and can happily compare notes. I like being with Larry. He's got a sense of humor and isn't indirect about my work.

Happy New Year! Looking forward to 2016.
