|"Yours & Mine" Oil on Canvas Board|
Painting this picture of apples was fun. I wanted to capture the deep colors and light on the objects. I think this painting reminds me of something from the 1940's. The muted tones and focus on the primary objects help to lift the apples from the canvas.
The painting has been sold and will shortly be delivered to its new owner.
Here are few sketches I did during lunchtime breaks recently. Sketching at lunch helps to relax me and since I'm on a time schedule, helps me to work quickly, but not hurriedly if that makes any sense. I can always come back the next day to finish the work.
Sketching the car was more of a challenge than I anticipated. It was a bit of work to get the perspectives correct and when you see the cars in a photograph you have to be careful to measure distances because your eye can deceive when it comes to how long something should be.
