Adventures in Art

March 15, 2015

"Adventure" means many things to many people. It can mean climbing Mount Everest or venturing out to your own backyard. For me it means going out and experiencing life and art together. So this year I've been planning to film some of my own, "Art Adventures" and that's just what I did yesterday.

I took along the Go Pro camera my wife gave me for Christmas and I filmed my sketch outing. To begin this series I wanted to stay local so I went to a nearby place named Phalen. After I was done shooting all the video, I spent several hours editing it all down before I was able to put together a fifteen minute "Art Adventure".

I plan to do these throughout the year and I'm already looking forward to a few spring and summer trips we have planned. Although I sketch nearly every day, the idea is to get out there and see the world a bit more. I want to share these moments with others and hope it will encourage them to do the same.

Here is the video along with another drawing I did today while I was at the laundromat. Even though I have a washer and dryer at home, I still like washing blankets and bedspreads in the industrial sized washers. :-)
